'Sparrow' holiday cards lit up season

Friends of Home of the Sparrow wishes to thank the community for supporting so generously its annual Holiday Card sales project this past season.

Kudos to the following Barrington merchants: Ambrosia Euro-American Patisserie; Barrington Home Shoppe; Peter Daniel; The Garlands and Lake Barrington Woods for carrying the cards.

Also, Dalzell Jewelers in Crystal Lake, as well as all of the Sparrow's Nest Thrift Stores, which are located in Palatine, Cary, McHenry and Woodstock.

Special appreciation to all of you who purchased the cards, which are created by children living in one of the Sparrow shelters! Proceeds will be used to further the ongoing work of Home of the Sparrow, which provides emergency services of counseling, transitional housing and job-skills training to those women and children of the Northwest suburbs finding themselves in personal distress with nowhere to go.

Learn more by attending the annual meeting/luncheon which will be held April 21st at Wynstone Country Club in North Barrington. More complete information about the organization, volunteer opportunities and fabulous boutique shopping will complete the day. Call Judith, (847) 381-1337.

Again, thank you for your interest and involvement.
