Move It to Lose It winners praise training program
Geneva Park District offers new Move It to Lose It fitness challenge program beginning Monday, Jan. 11, at the Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center.
This motivational, educational, and transforming 10-week health and fitness journey takes participants through a fitness and nutrition regimen with certified personal trainers and a registered dietitian.
It encourages a healthy competition by tracking the weight loss of each participant in confidential weekly weigh-ins.
Prizes and awards are given out to reward participants' accomplishments and keep them motivated on this journey to better health.
The top prize is a free one-year fitness membership to the Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center, 3507 Kaneville Road, Geneva.
The Geneva Park District began offering Move It to Lose it in September, with an overwhelming response and more than 30 participants.
The two winners of the September Move It to Lose It, lost a combined 19 percent of their total body weight.
Losing weight and changing your lifestyle can be difficult, but the personal trainers, other participants and nutritional seminars really help to keep participants motivated, plus seeing the results is an award in itself.
Now, it's your turn, no more excuses, it is a new year, make 2010 the year you live healthier.
Classes begin Monday, Jan. 11, and are open to people age 18 and older. The cost for SPRC members is $125 and $200 for nonmembers. Weigh-in and nutritional seminars are from 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays.
