Look at real cost of illegal immigration

This is in response to Philip from Hoffman Estates, he suggests illegal immigration is good for America. Most of his arguments stated how their cheap labor keeps costs down, he suggests that if not for immigrants, cost would sky rocket. He loves immigrants for this reason.

Fact is, Sir, yes they work for less. Here are some facts that you did not account for. Roughly 30 percent of all prisoners in the country are illegal immigrants at a cost of $30,000 to $60,000 per year. Illegal immigrants are one of the reasons health care costs are constantly rising. With calls to 911 for headaches, stomachaches, colds, etc., hospitals and municipalities have to eat that cost. Millions each year.

School districts are forced by law to hire teachers to assist many students who come here not knowing the English language. Property taxes throughout America are on the rise, this being one of the reasons.

As a police officer, I know what a damaging effect gangs have on a community. Many of these thugs are illegals. I love legal immigrants, they are what truly made this country. Amnesty should not be an option.

Cheap labor, sir, should never be a reason to overlook a crime.
