Know of what you speak on term limits

District representation addresses the method of electing members of the Naperville City Council and nothing more. Term limits also addresses only the terms served by the members of the council and not the form of government.

That said, the Naperville Voter Education League should spend some time educating themselves about what they are trying to do. Many articles have been written stating this group wants to "debate/change our form of government." If I understand their proposals they are looking for voter answers on term limits and district representation.

In fact, they seem to be advocating a "mix" to the election system (part from districts and part at large). Neither of these proposals address our "form of government," which is the council-manager form.

Seems like when groups begin advocating "changing the form of government," they should know of what they speak before publishing misleading information. If, indeed, we are to believe that they are interested in educating voters, they should get their terms correct.
