Minooka woman's body found near railroad tracks

MINOOKA -- While Grundy County authorities say a Minooka woman found dead along some railroad tracks died of exposure, they are not sure just how she came to be there.

Grundy County Coroner John Callahan he pronounced Martil Jovanes dead at the scene Sunday morning and later said it appears she collapsed and died because of the frigid temperatures.

But the Grundy County Sheriff's department says a preliminary investigation revealed that Jovanes' vehicle had been struck by a train Saturday evening about a quarter mile from where Jovanes' body was found. And the department also found that the vehicle had caught fire and burned before being struck.

No one was found in or around the vehicle.
