Don't bank on feds to take care of you
Contrary to the opinion of a recent Fence Post contributor, Cal Thomas is exactly on target to suggest that the government can't run anything. Actually, Cal asks, "Why would anyone trust government - which has a difficult enough time winning wars - to properly administer health care?"
Consider this: If you expect to retire in 20 years, how confident are you that Social Security will be a part of your retirement income? If you provide health care services, how much of your Medicare/Medicaid receivables are languishing in the over-90 day column? If you live in New Orleans, is FEMA on your Christmas card list?
Now, if you are a woman, how comfortable are you with the new breast and ovarian cancer screening guidelines? Who wants to debate the likelihood of today's "guidelines" becoming part of tomorrow's (health care) law?
No, Cal Thomas is wise to question the federal government to administer health care for our nation.
