Design center to aid businesses
Elgin's Downtown Neighborhood Association is creating a Downtown Elgin Design Resource Center at 2 Douglas Ave. in the first floor of the Elgin Tower Building where existing and potential downtown business and property owners can get help and information. The DNA will help provide information about regulations and city programs to assist with building facades, signs and awnings. The DNA will work with volunteer architects and designers, but is looking for donations of bookshelves, magazine racks and trade journals to help with the design center.
