New Trier tops Johnsburg in D-C semifinal
New Trier 57, Johnsburg 49: The Trevians (10-0) started off strong with a 16-9 lead after the first quarter and never looked back as they defeated the Skyhawks (10-4) in one semifinal of the Charger Classic at Dundee-Crown.
Molly Quirke and Abbey Schmitt led the Trevians, tying with game-high honors of 19 points apiece while Maggie Lyon chipped in 12 points. The Skyhawks were paced by Melissa Dixon (16 points), Megan Lopez (12 points), and Danielle Slivka (10 points) who all turned in double-digit performances.
New Trier will play Fenwick for the tournament championship at 8 p.m. today for the second year in a row. Johnsburg takes on Prospect for third place.
