Got Lady Gaga tickets? Better guess again
If you have tickets for the Chicago stops of the Monster Ball tour, you won't go ga-ga for this news: You have to buy your tickets again.
The Lady Gaga performances scheduled for Jan. 8, 9 and 10 at the Chicago Theatre have been moved to the Rosemont Theatre "due to production issues," according to an e-mail sent Monday to ticketholders.
Chicago Theatre tickets will not be honored at the Rosemont Theatre. If you bought your tickets at ticketmaster.com or by phone, the purchase price will be automatically refunded to your credit card account in 7 to 10 business days, according to the e-mail.
Tickets purchased at the Chicago Theatre box office or through a Ticketmaster retail outlet must be returned to the original point of purchase.
An exclusive presale for those who bought tickets to the Chicago Theatre performances will begin at 5 p.m. today through all Ticketmaster outlets. Any additional tickets for the new shows will go on sale 10 a.m. Jan. 4, according to promoter LiveNation.
Questions can be directed to ticketmaster.com or to Ticketmaster's customer service line at (800) 653-8000.
Similar arrangements were announced Monday for the "Bad Romance" singer's shows in Detroit, which had to be moved from the smaller Fox Theatre to Joe Louis Arena, home of the Detroit Red Wings. The Monster Ball tour began in November in Canada, and features an elaborate stage production with a legion of dancers and mulitple costume and set changes.
The change in venue should allow more fans to see the show; Chicago Theatre's capacity is 3,600, and Rosemont Theatre can seat up to 4,300.
