Christmas is time to think about life

During this Christmas season when we celebrate the birthday of Jesus, it is a stark reminder that life begins at conception and needs to be protected. Christians all over the world celebrate this season the fact that Jesus was conceived in the womb of Mary and that life began for him at the moment of conception.

No argument there. Outside of any moral and/or religious conviction, our Constitution states that in the United States, all citizens have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It wasn't that long ago when the Supreme Court of our nation stated that people of color were not considered citizens.

As I write this letter, lifesaving medical procedures are being performed on unborn babies. How can we continue as a nation to support legalized abortion? It makes no sense on a constitutional or moral ground.
