Seals has support, name recognition
Dan Seals is the right choice in the Democratic primary for Congress in the 10th District. He is right on the issues, focusing on those that matter to us most: the economy, education, the environment, health care and women's rights.
He is fiscally conservative while sharing our social values. He is a staunch supporter of Israel. Moreover, Dan Seals has the integrity that has long been missing from Illinois politics, which he demonstrated as he stayed above the fray in a recent episode of questionable campaign tactics engaged in by his two opponents.
Importantly, Dan has the name recognition, favorability and campaign organization to beat the Republican candidate in the fall. Seals won 46.6 percent of the vote in 2006 and improved to 47.4 percent of the vote in 2008 against one of most popular and well-funded Republicans in the country. Dan received more votes in 2008 than Mark Kirk received in 2006.
In a year when every incumbent member of Congress seeking re-election in Illinois was re-elected and when 95 percent of all incumbents across the country were re-elected, Dan came very close to pulling off a major upset. If he could come so close to beating Kirk, imagine how well he'll do against a much lesser-known Republican who will not have the advantages of incumbency-including money-that Kirk had. On Feb. 2, vote for the Democrat who will win in November - Dan Seals.
