Rush still spews venom at police

U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush has been staying true to his militant past and is sure on a roll as of late in his constant condemnation of the Chicago police. First it was the E2 stampede and referring to emergency responders as the "riot police" in his game to not point fingers at the real cause of the incident: unruly patrons and nightclub owners who ignored housing orders in favor of the almighty dollar to pack the club full of party goers.

Didn't Mr. Rush forget to blame the security guard who haphazardly sprayed pepper spray into the crowd and ignited the stampede leaving people for dead before help arrived?

Most recently we have Rush critiquing how the Chicago Police handled the investigation of a 12-year-old missing person who was found murdered. We cannot overlook the tragedy of such a young woman losing her life in a vicious attack and I am sure the mourning community and family wants to lay blame somewhere, but how is this the fault of the police? As a parent of a 12-year-old boy I think there are some parenting skills that should be analyzed in this incident, such as not noticing the child was not home until 3 a.m.

Rush has a history of showing his loathing of the police, and in true Black Panther form, always depicts officers as enemies of the people. He regularly spews his message of dislike for the police to create animosity, though I think there are solutions. An option would be for other people in power to stand up to Bobby Rush and point out his skewed view, but that is pointless because they fear getting labeled racist, Rush's primary defense. Better would be to give people in Rush's district the option to call the police or Bobby Rush, be it barking dog call or homicide.
