Health care proof of Democrat intrusion

Conservative commentators have said that the Obama/Democratic leadership has undertaken a lot of their efforts to gain more government control of our society and how we live our personal lives. I think the Democratic legislative priorities speak for themselves.

Just think - if government wanted to intrude to a greater extent in our daily lives, what more effective way to do this than expand its role in our health care and in the energy we use? Health care legislation will affect virtually every American as well as an expanding 6 percent of the economy. The energy proposals will impact everything we do on a daily basis - from the food we eat, the heat for our homes, the way we travel, our opportunities for employment, the way we run our businesses and the taxes, both direct and indirect, which we will pay.

Whether intended or not, the consequences of this, as well as other pending Democrat legislation, will have the result of substantially expanding government influence over our lives. And it will probably get worse, since history shows that once a piece of social legislation is in place, it becomes an entitlement that tends to expand over time as more groups press for their larger share of the pie.
