Read the constitution and get back to basics

Wake up America. This great country was founded on a document created by leaders who had escaped from a tyrannical government and came to a new land to give all men freedom; and equality.

It is the constitution of the United States of America. Most of the freedoms included, were freedom from the government. This document has served over the years to make America what it is: the land of the free, and the home of the brave. Now we have come to a testing of that document.

The administration that now controls our government has no special affection for constitution. Meetings behind closed doors with only Democrats? Is this the transparency Obama promised? Votes on an unpopular health care bill, over 2,000 pages long and yet unread, to be taken in the wee hours of the morning, or on Christmas Eve, when no one will be paying attention?

As a matter of fact, when the speaker of the house, Nancy Pelosi was asked if the actions of this administration were in keeping with the constitution, she shouted,"Are you serious? Are you serious?" Clearly offended by the question.

It seems that they think the constitution is a flexible document to be adjusted to their whim. If it appears that the liberals will lose control, I predict the constitution will be altered to suit their needs. The forefathers must be spinning in their graves.

Is it any wonder that the liberal party is so concerned with gun control? Perhaps they are anticipating resistance, or even revolt. Protection of our freedoms is being eroded and sadly, many Americans are indifferent or disbelieving that this is the change promised by the president.

Wake up America, before it's too late and take back the country our forefathers dreamed of for its citizens.
