Elgin

• Jaclyn M. Pena, 24, of the 200 block of Wing Park Boulevard, Elgin, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and transportation of open alcohol after a traffic stop at 2:12 p.m. Monday at Highland Avenue and McLean Boulevard, reports said.

• Angel L. Lopez, 19, of the 900 block of Seminole Drive, Elgin, was arrested and charged with DUI, speeding, failure to signal and transportation of open alcohol after a traffic stop at 3:46 a.m. Monday at South Street and Alfred Avenue, reports said.

• Someone kicked in the doors on a 1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88 in the 400 block of Standish Court sometime between 12:01 and 8 a.m. Monday, reports said.

• Someone broke out the driver's side windows on two cars in the 300 block of Ann Street between 10 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 a.m. Monday, reports said.

• A $1,750 18-karat white gold wedding ring with diamonds was stolen from a condo on the 1100 block of Stratford Court between Dec. 3 and 5, police said. The condo owners said a potential buyer likely stole the wedding ring while they were showing the unit.

• Someone used another person's identification and Social Security number to order five mobile phones that were mailed to a home last Tuesday on the 2300 block of Country Knoll Lane.

• A Garmin GPS and its car charger were stolen from a 2006 Toyota Sunday that was parked on the 600 block of Lavoie Avenue. Police said the suspect got into the car by breaking out a window with a brick.

• Between 10 and 20 DVDs worth $100 were stolen from a home between Friday and Sunday on the 1000 block of Byron Lane, police said. Reports did not say how the suspect entered, but the homeowner said he has a bad habit of leaving certain doors open, losing his keys and leaving his keys in the lock.

Huntley

• Huntley police are warning residents to be on the look out for people who might be posing as village public works employees after two men came to the back door of a residence in the 11900 block of Main Street on Dec. 16. The suspects told the homeowners they were working on frozen pipes in the area and they needed to check the pipes. The suspects kept one of the homeowners busy by turning on faucets to check for dye while the other suspect roamed around the house. The homeowners became suspicious and yelled at the suspects, who then left the house. Both men were described as Hispanics between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7 with medium build, clean shaven and in their late 20s. Police advise residents to ask for identification before allowing anyone inside.

• A resident in the 11900 block of East Main Street on Wednesday reported residential burglary in which firebox containing $200 cash and miscellaneous important documents were stolen.
