Radio Players take on holiday classic
The Improv Playhouse Radio Players, the professional live radio drama troupe with the aforementioned Libertyville-based theater company, is performing "It's A Wonderful Life."
David Stuart, Improv Playhouse Guy-In-Charge, is thrilled to be directing and starring in the role of George Bailey.
"This is a story of redemption, where the lead character finds himself at the end of all hope, only to be presented with a new vision on how his life has affected many," says Stuart.
"This is a staged dramatic performance, not a live radio broadcast, identical to what some of the premiere theater companies in the Chicago area have produced," Stuart said.
This completes a run of Radio Theatre productions by Improv Playhouse for 2009 that included "The Maltese Falcon," "Fibber McGee and Molly" and "Who's on First!"
"This is a production that will delight all members of every family, from young to old; it emphasizes the joy of the Christmas Holiday, in a little over an hour" says Stuart. "Filled with comedy and drama, the production will leave you with tears of inspiration and laughter."
