Top honor for Sox trainer
Scott Takao, White Sox minor league coordinator, has received the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society's award as the top athletic trainer in the minor leagues, as voted by his peers in PBATS. This award is given to an athletic trainer that exemplifies the best in athletic training for their players and demonstrates a deep concern for the community and fellow athletic trainers.
Richie Bancells, president of PBATS, said, "Scott understands that being an athletic trainer means helping athletes achieve their life long goals. A ballplayer can only succeed if he is healthy and participating. Scott has proven that he considers his job as an athletic trainer an awesome responsibility and a personal challenge that needs to be met with his best effort daily."
PBATS was founded 26 years ago and is dedicated to the continuing education of Major and Minor League athletic trainers and is committed to the health and well being of all Americans through its many education programs and seminars.
