Some thoughts on protecting life
Each year, we kill millions of mosquitoes by maliciously crushing them to death with fly swatters or anything else we can get our hands on. Worse yet, millions more are murdered before they are born by our systematic elimination of their breeding grounds. I wonder if we would continue killing these frail little creatures if we could hear their pathetic, tiny screams.
We should think twice before tampering with the natural order of things. Since we cannot know God's great plan, it is not our place to deny a seat at the picnic table of life to any of his creations.
We can no longer callously ignore the plight of these misunderstood, defenseless, universally reviled fellow inhabitants of our planet who ask nothing more than a drop or two of our blood now and then to sustain their lives, while man-eating lions and tigers are protected in numerous sanctuaries funded by our tax dollars.
Please join me in protecting stagnant water wherever it is found, from swamplands to unattended back yard birdbaths.
Since the unborn cannot protect themselves, as God-fearing Americans, we must step in to fill the void.
I also have strong feelings about wind chimes, pimples, cancer, necrophilia, cannibalism and Dick Cheney, but the 300 word limit on Fence Post letters forces me to wait until later to offer my views on how to deal with these abominations.
