Tresser pushes foe off Green ballot in Cook Co. board race

Sean Burke was taken off the ballot in the Green Party primary race for Cook County Board president Thursday.

Burke's petitions couldn't survive a challenge over ineligible signatures filed by Tom Tresser. The removal of Burke, from Westchester, left Tresser the lone candidate on the Green Party primary ballot for the office on Feb. 2.

Tresser, of Chicago, led the No Games Chicago grass-roots group that fought the city's bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

In other Green Party news, Richard Dalka of Des Plaines survived a challenge in the race for 17th District commissioner and will remain on the primary ballot.
