Improv Playhouse performance:

"It's a Wonderful Life" - Radio Drama will be offered Dec. 11-13 at the Cultural & Civic Center of Round Lake Beach. This unique production will be presented by Improv Playhouse and acted out in an old fashion radio studio by professional actors. The shows are 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12; and, 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children, seniors and military personnel. The Center is at 2007 Civic Center Way off Hook Drive behind Regal Cinemas off Rollins Road and Home Depot near Route 83. Call (847) 201-9032.

Peterson Road to close Friday:

The Lake County Division of Transportation will close Peterson Road to thru traffic from Midlothian Road to Route 45 on Friday, Dec. 11 to allow the Canadian National Railroad to repair the rail crossing at Peterson Road in Mundelein. The crossing will close at 8 a.m. and reopen approximately 4 p.m. The detour route will be Midlothian Road to Winchester Road to Route 45. Local traffic will be allowed from Midlothian Road to Franklin Boulevard and from Route 45 to Industrial Drive. The railroad crossing work site will be closed to all traffic.

2 teens arrested:

Two teenagers were arrested Dec. 4 after Waukegan police connected them to a burglary and 13 cases of vandalism, authorities announced Wednesday. The crimes occurred between Nov. 5 and Dec. 4. The youths, ages 13 and 14, had broken car windows, made graffiti and burglarized a local school, police said. Charges in juvenile court are pending, police said.

Messianic Hanukkah celebration:

Christian Life Fellowship Church in Antioch hosts a Messianic Hanukkah celebration on Sunday, Dec. 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Chicago area worship pastor Stuart Lee will present traditional Hebrew songs, as well as contemporary Christian praise and worship music. Radiothon at Gurnee Mills:

WUSN-FM will host its 19th consecutive Country Cares for St. Jude Kids radiothon with live broadcasting from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and Friday at Gurnee Mills. Money raised from the radio marathon will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. The father of a St. Jude patient will share his family's experience during the event.
