DuPage County preview

Naperville Central (10-0, 2-0) at WW South (6-1, 2-0)

When: 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Outlook: The Redhawks, off to their best start since Candace Parker's junior season, will be tested in only their second true road game. Tigers already have mached last year's win total. Emma Ondik is the Redhawks' money player, but WW South's biggest challenge could be containing 6-footers Emma Donahue and Catherine Tanck. Annie Shain leads the defensive-minded Tigers, giving up just over 30 points per game during a six-game win streak.

Glenbard West (8-1, 2-1) at Hinsdale Central (5-2, 2-0)

When: 5 p.m. Saturday.

Outlook: Down-to-the-wire finishes are the early norm in the West Suburban Silver. Don't expect anything different here. The Hilltoppers, starting three 6-footers led by junior Cayla Herbst, enjoy a big size advantage over 5-9 Adabelle Ekechukwu and the Red Devils. How will the Hilltoppers contain Toni Kokenis? For her part Glenbard West guard Abbey White has scored 15 or more in seven of the last eight games.
