Skinny: If you're inclined to make a sudden getaway from the nasty weather here, the Blue Demons are the opening act for a nice SEC/Big East Invitational doubleheader in lovely Tampa, Fla. Syracuse and Florida are the nationally ranked nightcap. DePaul hopes to salvage one of its three non-conference games against SEC foes, but the Bulldogs might be the toughest of the bunch despite being unranked. Senior forward Jarvis Varnado leads the nation with 5.3 blocks per game. In his spare time, he delivers 14.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. DePaul senior guard Will Walker (17.3 ppg) needs 19 points to become the 45th Demon to hit the 1,000 mark. DePaul only gets outrebounded by 1.5 boards per game, which is a solid improvement over last year. The Bulldogs will test this improvement.
