Choral group to sing at Women in Management meeting
The Dundee-Crown Chamber Choir will entertain with a special holiday musical performance at the Northern Fox Valley Chapter of Women in Management meeting on Thursday, Dec. 10 at the Elgin Country Club, 2575 Weld Road in Elgin. The Dundee-Crown Chamber Choir is an honors choir with entrance only through tryouts. The 32 students will perform a selection of holiday music in a cappella. The choir performs throughout the year at Dundee-Crown High School in Carpentersville and throughout the community.
The choir is led by director, Lisa Bettcher. She is choral director at the school and choir director for the Elgin Children's Chorus. She manages the Community Unit District 300 Vocal Festival, facilitates district music educators for the District Professional Growth Department and directs staff for the District Induction Academy, which has been acclaimed by the National Education Association.
In addition to the performance, this holiday focused meeting will include a silent auction to benefit this WIM Chapter's Susan Wyatt Memorial Scholarship Fund, named in memory of Susan Wyatt, the chapter's former administrator. Since the inception of the scholarship program in 1991-92, the chapter has awarded more than $22,000 in financial assistance to area women.
The Northern Fox Valley Chapter of Women in Management was founded in 1984. It is part of a national organization. Members are comprised of professionals in six categories: academic; corporate; entrepreneur; government; licensed, degreed professional; and not-for-profit. Area women managers/business owners are invited to join. Cheryl Wendt, fund development director of the Boys and Girls Club of Elgin, is this year's president of the Northern Fox Valley Chapter Women in Management. For information, visit wimonline.org.
