Praise for coverage of Dugan trial

I would like to congratulate you on your ongoing coverage of the Nicarico/Dugan issues and the Dugan trial. The issue is complex and very emotional, and I think that you provided a fine perspective on the issues, and your reporting was excellent.

I always pay close attention to the writing because I was an English teacher for 35 years. My own perspective regarding what Dugan deserves and the issue of capitol punishment would have nothing to do with the way your reporters presented the material.

Compared to both of the major daily Chicago newspapers, which I also read, your work is outstanding and you are to be commended for what you have achieved.

I am sure we have not heard the last of the Dugan issue, considering how long a stay on death row is, and how complex it is now in Illinois, and I expect that you will continue to deal with it in an exemplary manner.

I am glad that I subscribe to your newspaper in spite of where I live because of such coverage of issues that really are national in scope, not regional.
