Time for games is long over
First off, I would like to thank the Democrats who have worked hard to get this bill on the floor. As we go into debate, I would also like to remind them that as many times as the olive branch has been handed to the Republicans and as many times as they have been invited to participate, they have consistently sided with their insurance industry masters and have done their best to stop reform by using outright lies, misinformation and deceit.
This has not been an honest debate on the Right. Either join in with honest and sincere debate, or back off. The people of this country overwhelmingly what health care reform and want the public option. That was our compromise. What we really want is single payer insurance for everyone. The Republicans seems to have forgotten that they got their butts handed to them in the last election and act like they are still in power. It is time to stand up to the occasion, Democrats, and give the people what they want.
That is your job. Now do it. The status quo is unacceptable. Keep in mind too that if this comes out without a strong public option, many people, including myself, will support candidates to oppose you in the next election. Your jobs are riding on this. Yes, it is that important. As the President said, the time for games is long over. Now is the time to do the work of the American people.
