Christian Liberty rallies to go to 3-0

Christian Liberty's boys basketball team rallied from a 1-point deficit going into the fourth quarter to beat visting Alden-Hebron 47-41 Friday night at Grace Gym in arlington Heights.

The Chargers improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Northeastern Athletic Conference.

"I'm a little surprised we're 3-0 but these guys are working hard and it's paying off," said Chargers coach Ken Kramer.

Luke Comerouski, the Chargers' No. 2 scorer, was out of town but Mike Hennek scored 12 points and hit three 3s and Gabriel Clayborne added 11 points.

Aaron Johnson and Nathan Elleson had 10 points and 9 rebounds apiece and Matt Litzenberger scored 6 points.

"Clayborne and Elleson really played well and controlled the ball, which is usually what Luke does," Kramer said. "They did a decent job at the end of the game."

Christian Liberty jumped to a 17-6 lead but trailed 32-31 going into the fourth quarter.

"We started pressing and we were able to control the tempo and they couldn't get settled," Kramer said.

Hinsdale South 44, Leyden 39: Brandon Stinson scored 12 points and Tracy Silmon added 11 as Leyden (1-4, 0-1) lost the West Suburban Gold opener in a game tied after three quarters.
