Montini evacuated after bomb threat

A celebration of Montini High School's state football championship was cancelled Wednesday, as the school was evacuated after a bomb threat.

Deputies on the DuPage County sheriff's hazardous devices unit swept the Lombard school building about 11:30 a.m. after the threat. Nothing was found.

Students were evacuated as a precaution. They were allowed back into the school about 2 p.m., but a pep rally to celebrate the Bronco's Class 5A state football championship was canceled due to the interruption.

The rally will be rescheduled, officials said. Details still were being finalized late Wednesday. Meanwhile, sheriff's officials still are investigating the threat.
