Nothing to be alarmed about here
Regarding the letter by John Bodine on global warming: Mr. Bodine is a skeptic of global warming, and following hours of researching the issue, I would first point out that if the science was so certain, why has the alarmist refused to open any public debates on the issue?
Science is as often incorrect as they are correct on many issues they research. Just a few examples are the conflicting health and science reports on a simple cup of coffee. I can think of at least four different studies on it; first, it's bad for you, next its good for you and yada yada yada. In the 1970s scientist decided to build an artificial reef off the southeast coast using old tires; they were convinced it would work well, but 25 years later they were spending millions cleaning up the mess they created.
I should also point out in the 1970s scientists were screaming that we were headed toward a global Ice Age. They were obviously wrong, were they not? Rather than try and debate all the issues on global warming, I would recommend two articles: One by David Evans in the Australian called "No smoking hot spots." The second is "Global Warming, a chilling perspective." Evans, a scientist, worked on the Kyoto Treaty for Australia. Both are easy reads and reinforced my belief this is not anything to be alarmed about or even accurate.
