Good for Glen Ellyn on gambling

I applaud Glen Ellyn Village President Mark Pfefferman for his statement in the Nov. 11 Daily Herald as to why his village is rejecting video gambling. He was quoted as saying, "The board cares a lot about the quality of life in Glen Ellyn. The board thought the cost, socially and economically, would outweigh the financial benefits."

How inspirational to hear of a public official putting integrity ahead of financial gain for his community. I urge other Illinois villages, towns, cities, and counties to do likewise: ban video gambling - it's not good for your community. Send a message to the Illinois General Assembly: Find another source of revenue to pay for rebuilding our infrastructure.
