Man's body found in Fox River in Port Barrington

A duck hunter discovered the body of a 63-year-old Port Barrington man floating in the Fox River Monday morning, according to the Lake County sheriff's office.

Officers found Richard Knight about 10:10 a.m. near the 26000 block of Roberts Road in Port Barrington, officials said. Knight was found on the shoreline northwest of the Fox River Marina, Sgt. Christopher Thompson said.

Police don't suspect foul play as Knight's wallet was found along with his car nearby. Investigators say alcohol might have played a role in the man's death.

The cause of Knight's death was drowning, Lake County Coroner Richard Keller said after an autopsy Monday night.
