Zook wishes Illini could have won more
CHAMPAIGN --- As Illinois gets ready to close a disappointing season Saturday against Fresno State, coach Ron Zook says he wishes the team could have accomplished more for seniors like quarterback Juice Williams.
Williams has had an up-and-down career at Illinois since coming from Chicago Vocational.
He led Illinois to the Rose Bowl as a sophomore, and he's the school's all-time leader in offensive production.
But Williams has also led the team through most of three losing seasons. That includes this year. The Illini are 3-7.
Zook says Williams has handled the good times and the bad without complaint.
Fresno State comes to Champaign at 7-4 for Saturday's 11:30 a.m. game.
