NIU football fans can reserve tickets for bowl

Beginning today, Northern Illinois fans can show their support for the Huskies and reserve their tickets to the Huskie football team's 2009 bowl destination - wherever it may be - at niuhuskies.com.

Northern Illinois and its online ticket partner, Ticketmaster, have created the bowl ticket reservation site that lists the four most likely bowls that the Northern Illinois football team could travel to this season. Those bowls include two games in which the Mid-American Conference has tie-ins, the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl in Detroit, Mich. (Dec. 26) and the International Bowl in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Jan. 2), as well as the bowls most likely to have openings for an at-large team, the EagleBank Bowl in Washington, D.C. (Dec. 29) and the Roady's Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, Idaho (Dec. 30).

Four bowls will be listed and fans can click on the boxes next to the games which they would attend should the Huskies be invited.

Information will be collected, but NO credit cards will be charged until after Northern Illinois receives its formal invitation and the order is confirmed through a phone call to the purchaser.

Bowl bids will be extended late Sunday. On Sunday evening, pertinent bowl information regarding tickets, travel options and specific bowl events will be live on niuhuskies.com.
