Aurora man killed in motorcycle crash

A 29-year-old motorcyclist from Aurora died Saturday after colliding with a car on the 1100 block of West Sullivan Road, Aurora police said.

The crash occurred about 1:45 p.m. Miguel J. Gomez-Ortiz was driving west on Sullivan when a Chevrolet Crossover driven by 28-year-old Jeyaseelan Jaypal of Chicago turned east onto Sullivan from a driveway. Jaypal was cited for failure to yield when exiting a private driveway. He was not injured.

There are no signs drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident, Aurora spokesman Dan Ferrelli said.

Gomez-Ortiz was wearing a helmet, but it apparently became dislodged by the impact of the collision, Ferrelli said.
