Governor candidates on releasing tax returns
The Associated Press asked candidates for Illinois governor whether they will make their income tax returns public and whether they will post them online. Here are summaries of their answers:
DEMOCRATS
-- Dan Hynes: will continue practice of releasing them "upon request."
-- Pat Quinn: will continue practice of releasing them. No mention of posting them.
REPUBLICANS
-- Adam Andrzejewski: already posted online.
-- Bill Brady: releasing them would create problems for his business and business partners.
-- Kirk Dillard: will release 2009 returns online.
-- Andy McKenna: will release them if other candidates do.
-- Dan Proft: will post them online.
-- Jim Ryan: yes.
-- Bob Schillerstrom: posting returns would not help the public.
