Easy answers to tough questions
Let's get to the heart of our problems and solve them. Why are health costs rising? We all want health care reform. There are different ways to climb the mountain. The medical industry needs to protect itself. Doctors have to run more tests, additional staff are needed to document work, legal costs are still high. Here's the solution: tort reform and allowing interĀstate health insurance competition.
We don't need a massive health care bill full of pork barrel spending. During World War II, Winston Churchill never wanted a report more than one page in length. Does government really have a place in health care?
In 1854 Lincoln spoke about the legitimate objective of government. He said, "In all that people can individually do as well for themselves, government ought not to interfere."
Regarding senior transportation, charge Seniors $1 per ride. Others pay the going rate. Philadelphia does this.
Also, eliminate the tax on food. Restaurant and liquor costs still should to be taxed. Some states don't charge a tax on food. People need food to be healthy.
On the issue of minimum wage, lower the rate. Those of worth will be able to advance. Our youth who need work experience to start their lives can't find jobs because employers simply can't afford to hire them.
