Trotting at Spaulding School

Spaulding School in Gurnee will host what's become an annual Turkey Trot from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in its yard.

Part of the Gurnee Elementary District 56 system, the school's students in prekindergarten through second grade will run and walk outside with family and classmates.

School officials say the idea is to promote a healthy beginning to the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

Spaulding is on Gurnee's east side on Belle Plaine Road.
