Schaumburg Flyers to open home season May 25

The Schaumburg Flyers will open the 2010 Northern League season on the road May 20 against the Rockford RiverHawks.

The Flyers will host their home opener at Alexian Field on May 25 against the Kansas City T-Bones.

For its Two-Dollar-Tuesday promotion, fans will enjoy $2 beer or soda, a $2 designated gift shop item (while supplies last) and a $2 ticket with purchase of any regular priced ticket.

Among other special events, the Flyers will designate May 25 as Peanut Free Day, meaning no peanuts or any food with peanut oil will be sold at the park throughout the game.

The Flyers will play most weeknight home games at 7 p.m., with Saturday games at 6 p.m. and Sunday games at 1:20 p.m.

Tickets for Opening Day and all other home games are on sale now at flyersbaseball.com, at 847-891-2255 or by visiting the Flyers ticket office located at Alexian Field.

WRMN AM-1410 will broadcast all 100 Flyers games this season.

The Flyers' 2010 roster is beginning to take shape. Manager Mike Busch has retained the contract rights to 20 players from his 2009 roster including All-Stars Felix Jose, Victor Ferrante, Ed Almonte, Cephas Howard, and Dustin Glant. The 2009 Flyers were the Northern League team with the highest increase in wins from the previous season.
