Foster showed spine in backing health reform

I want to strongly commend Rep. Bill Foster for casting a courageous vote in favor of health care reform. After all, he took Denny Hastert's place in a traditionally Republican district, and he may pay a price from some Republicans and independents in 2010 for this kind of vote.

However, some of that pushback may be offset by progressive Democrats like myself, who were ready to vote for a different Democrat in the 2010 primary before Saturday night's vote. Rep. Foster evidently has more moral strength and fiber than we were giving him credit for.
