Lisle Lions

Coach Jeff Javior

Last year 10-18, 6-5, fifth in the Interstate Eight Conference; lost to Westmont 44-37 in Class 2A Timothy Christian regional quarterfinal.

Top players Nicole Urban, jr., G; Jackie Todd, sr., F; Colleen Drennan, sr., F; Chelsea Peterson, sr., C; Tara Sarb, jr., G/F; Darian Payne, so., F/C.

Scouting report Javior, for 15 years an assistant or head coach, said this is the most excited he has been about Lisle basketball in a long time. Depth is the reason why. The Lions return three senior starters and a junior with two years of varsity experience, along with a fresh crop of newcomers. All-around talent Todd led the Lions in rebounds and was second in steals as a junior. "Ms. Inside" Peterson will bang near the basket. Sarb can play multiple positions. The Lions did lose starting off guard Brynn Tomko and freshman Kelly Urban to injuries. But sophomores Payne and Shelby Kretman as well as Tori Harris and Katie O'Connell, starters on Lisle's sophomore team last year, should push for playing time. "The gap between our starters and bench has narrowed tremendously," Javior said. "It's who will fit best for us in a given situation."
