Outlook Lott takes over as the new Royals' coach, following Amy Silverman, who stepped down after 14 seasons. Lott has only two returning players in Beaver and Holbert and will be relying on several underclassmen to better last year's 2-22 record. "We're trying to rebuild the program and we're working on skills right now," Lott said. "I expect us to be very competitive. We'll look to stretch the floor. The wins and losses we'll take game by game but if we can stay healthy I'm looking at a .500 season." Allison Smith, a freshman who Lott expected to start at point guard, broke a finger in last weekend's Blue/White scrimmage and will be out until January, Lott said.
