Head coach Jim Sarver (fourth season)

2008-09 season 7-21, 2-8 FVC Fox

They're gone The Knights didn't graduate a full-time starter. Kristen Junius, Alyssa Smith and Kelly Russ all came off the bench.

Starting five Senior forward Lauren Erickson gives the Knights a rare weapon who can both hit 3-pointers and post double-digit rebounds. An all-area player last season, this is her third season on varsity after playing in Florida as a freshman. "Kinsey Siler, an athletic 5-11 sophomore who started last season, could have a breakout season. She dropped in a career-best 24 points in the season opener Monday and followed up with a 10-point effort. "We expect a double-double out of her every night," Sarver said. Sophomore Katie McGrath took over the starting point guard spot in the second half of last season. Sophomores Brooke Sauer, who was up all last season, and Brianna Leon, who earned a midseason promotion last winter, complete the starting five.

Off the bench Sarver can run out a lot of guards, including 5-3 sophomore newcomer Allie Ceglarek, who had 7 points on Tuesday. Guard Sara Steinhoff got some minutes as a freshman last season.

Sarver says "Being young, there's still a learning curve for us. We're still adjusting. We have a brand-new defense and a brand-new offense (dribble and drive)."
