Last year 19-7, 8-0, first in the Private School League; lost 59-52 to Walther Lutheran in a Class 2A Timothy Christian regional semifinal.

Scouting report Returning All-Area guard Greenwood and 6-foot-2 banger Stein bring the Trojans' pell-mell style into the Metro Suburban Conference. Gym rats Greenwood, Peeples, Penczak and Pizzello all had good summers, and second-year Trojans coach LeGrand will call a slew of puzzling defenses. Penczak improved on a jump shot that helped him average 4.5 points as a sophomore. Boot (up from last year's 18-6 sophomore team) goes 6-5, and Stein is athletic and brawny, but they must avoid foul trouble against bigger teams. "I think the challenge at this point will be how quickly our bench develops," LeGrand said.
