2 charged with hiding jail escapee

PEORIA -- Peoria authorities have filed criminal charges against a brother- and sister-in-law accused of helping hide one of two escaped inmates from the Peoria County Jail earlier this week.

Prosecutors say Joshua Kulik and his sister-in-law, Brianne Kulik, were charged Wednesday with concealing or aiding a fugitive, which is a Class 4 felony punishable by as long as three years in prison.

Joshua Kulik lives in the home where 28-year-old prison escapee Aaron Cook was found hiding on Tuesday.

Authorities say Cook knew one or both of the Kuliks and came to the home seeking shelter.

Neither Kulik has a criminal record.

The second escaped inmate, 44-year-old James Fuller, was recaptured Wednesday afternoon in Peoria
