Don't make Illinois a dumping ground

I am writing to thank Congressman Mark Kirk for standing up for the families of Illinois and opposing Dick Durbin and Pat Quinn's shortsighted and dangerous plan to house Guantanamo Bay inmates here in Illinois. Pat Quinn cannot balance Illinois' budget because he is unable or unwilling to impose fiscal discipline. So, instead, he's decided to raise some extra cash by renting out our state to house some of the most dangerous men in the world.

And why stop there? Why not rent out Illinois for other undesirable or potentially unsafe federal installations.

Toxic waste dumps, weapons testing ranges, chemical weapons decommissioning plants, Illinois could get some of that sweet federal money for them all. We could make Illinois the dumping ground of America.

A few million dollars and some temporary jobs are not worth risking the safety of Illinois families.
