Skinny: The Flames hit the road to face last year's MAC West co-champs. UIC regains the services of senior starters Jeremy Buttell and Kris Harris, both of whom missed the season-opening win over UIS due to a violation of team rules. Juco transfer K.C. Robbins, a 6-foot-11, 270-pound junior, had 12 points and 13 rebounds against youthful and undersized UI-Springfield. Central Michigan, however, has a roster loaded with seniors and big men that won't be as easy to rule. Senior guard Robbie Harman (20.0 ppg, 8 3-pointers, 9 steals) has been the hot hand early, but power forward Chris Kellermann will be a tough matchup as he likes to step out to shoot 3s.
