Bill isn't perfect, but it's a good start

The health care reform bill posed difficult challenges and decisions for all members of the House of Representatives. I am proud and grateful that Rep. Melissa Bean was among those who demonstrated foresight, courage and leadership in supporting this critical legislation. There is no clear, certain path in this complicated matter, and the bill is certainly not perfect (for example, imposing new restrictions on women's reproductive care choices), but it is a major, positive step.

As the legislative process proceeds, I know that Rep. Bean will continue to support the effort to provide health care access to everyone in America.
