Marmion wrestler commits to NU

Marmion Academy senior Pat Greco of St. Charles has signed to wrestle for Northwestern next year on a partial scholarship.

Greco is a three-time All-Conference wrestler with 101 career wins. Greco was a regional champion and state qualifier in 2009.

Greco was thrilled when Northwestern showed interest in recruiting him.

"I have been interested in attending Northwestern since I was in middle school," said Greco, who plans to major in business. "I made a goal for myself to be a part of their wrestling program. When I had the opportunity to visit the campus, I found that I loved the coaching staff and the fact that it is close to home. It was a perfect fit."

"Pat has been a great wrestler in our program," said Marmion head wrestling coach Dean Branstetter.

"He works extremely hard every year and has helped elevate our program to new heights."
