Kids should spend Veterans Day in class

I am proud that my kids spent Veterans Day in school where District 15 schools had a variety of programs to honor veterans and teach children what this day is really about.

I happened to have lunch at a local mall where kids from other districts spent the day shopping, eating, and playing.  I doubt many of them gave much of a thought as to why they had the day off from school.

Other school districts should learn from what District 15 has done for years and plan to teach their students next Veterans Day, rather than give them another play day.
