Carol Stream library needs wake-up call

While there are residents on my street that have their home listed for tax sale in the Daily Herald, the Carol Stream Library Board is still trying to dig deeper in our pockets and raise taxes. They are pinning the village of Carol Stream trustees into legally having to approve a tax increase at a time when so many of our residents are already suffering.

Remember, this is the same Library that still has the same director (Ann Kennedy) who sent an e mail to the library employees to make the library look more crowded in order to show a need for a new library. The Carol Stream Library has more than $4 million in reserves and they want more This library board needs a wake-up call and if they didn't like the results of the last election, wait until the next one in 2011 when there are two board members' terms up.

A few dollars more for food, a few dollars more for gas, a few dollars more for medicine and a few dollars more for unneeded library requests. With this type of thinking it is no wonder so many families are in trouble.
