Peplow Road down to 1 lane:
Beginning today the Kane County Transportation Department will conduct a geotechnical investigation on Peplow Road, north of Ramm Road in Maple Park, in anticipation of bridge replacement. The work will require a single lane closure and minor delays are expected. Flaggers will direct traffic, and the work should take at least three days. For details, (630) 584-1170.

Reservations are due today for Tuesday's Geneva Women in Business luncheon. Four GWIB members will discuss customer service, stress management, time management and market strategy. School finance forum:
Geneva school administrators and the school board will have a community forum to discuss the district's goals and long-range financial planning from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Geneva Middle School South, 1415 Viking Drive.
Geneva craft show:
The Mothers Club of Geneva is holding its 35th Annual Holiday Art and Craft Show on from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Geneva High School, 416 McKinley Ave. Admission is $4 for adults, under 12 free. Free supper Tuesday:

Turkey and hoops:
Win a turkey for your Thanksgiving dinner at the Geneva Park District Turkey Shoot Basketball Tournament Nov. 22 at the Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center. Participants whose team can make the most shots from four spots on the court will win. Teams will consist of one child and one parent or guardian. Children must be 8 to 13 to participate. The cost is $10 per team. Santa Shuffle 5K:
The Santa Shuffle 5K Family Fun Run is at 9 a.m. Dec. 5 at the Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Geneva. It benefits the Geneva Academic Foundation. There is also a youth mile for children 12 and younger. Cost is $25 for the 5K through Nov. 27, $30 after that; $15 for the youth run. Register at http://geneva.revtrak.net/tek9.asp.
